Welcome to 50. You made it!
Welcome aboard…I’m 52 and it’s a trip!
First of all, you can’t believe the 50′s
arrived so soon.
Secondly, you don’t FEEL like 50 like we’re supposed
to know what that feels like,lol!
I’m sooo proud of you. Seeing your reemergence was so
wonderful. I prayed and wished for that a long time.
It’s not about the hit record or magazine covers, it’s
about keeping the music alive. Being healthy mentally and
physically and having your heart healed.
I suspect Bobby is proud of you as well. Joyful honored
him so much and let us know that you had done some grief work
in order to express yourself that way. Eldra, it’s a process.
Second chance resonated with me as I too have suffered profound loss
and now I am reemerging as well. YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
what’s next?
Should you decide to work behind the scenes because the “biz”
is just too much, it’s ok, too. If you never sang another note or never
played another key, I’m grateful for the work you did.
BUT, if you still want to stay in the game, then don’t hold
back any longer. I always susepcted that what we’ve heard and seen is just the tip of the iceburg. You’ve EARNED the right to be called legend. Some folks have a song and are never heard from again, But
it’s been 30+ years and folks (old and new) are STILL hearing the
Debarge sound and are enjoying it. A blessing, indeed.
GIVE GOD THE GLORY
LOVE AND HONOR YOUR SELF
LEARN YOUR LESSONS SO YOU DON’T REPEAT THEM
RESPECT YOUR TALENT
RESPECT YOUR RELATIONSHIPS(business and otherwise)
CREATE BOUNDARIES AND HONOR THEM AND INSIST OTHERS
DO SO AS WELL(NO more jokes at your expense)
SIGN YOUR OWN CHECKS AND KNOW WHERE THE MONEY IS GOING
I’M trying to live these as well one day at a time.
Eldra Patrick, you have brought me much joy and some sadness.

Time heals all wounds and they will all embrace you because you have shown forgiveness and truly love them. Remember that love conquers all. I can’t wait for the next album and would love to hear an all instrumental song.

This is such an awesome and YES…LONG overdue page. I have been a fan for 29 years and am soooo glad to see that there are others out there who can truly appreciate this beautiful, talented, gifted, man that has been a blessing in my life thru his music.
The Book of El Blog is a sign of the time. Watching this brilliance grow up and through the challenges of being a black genious musical celebrity in America should give us all cause for pause. This blog will hopefully give us a view into the development of a mature artist who has settled into the throne of his legacy: bring it like you promised, El!!
